You may be unfamiliar of the popular Korean condiment, Gochujang, but it’s time to get acquainted. Gochujang provides the perfect counter-balance to the richness of macaroni and cheese.
For the Go-Chu-Jang Mac and Cheese
- 2 Cups uncooked elbow macaroni
- 1/2 Onion, chopped
- 1 Clove garlic, chopped
- 2 Tablespoons butter
- 2 Tablespoons flour
- 2 Cups milk
- 1 Cup cheddar cheese
- 1/2 Cup mozzarella cheese
- 3 Tablespoons gochujang hot sauce, such as Bibigo's
