I've seen different ways to prepare this recipe. I learned it many, many years ago from a co-worker and that's how I always prepare it.
- 1 kg of red potatoes
- 250 g sheep cheese
- 200 g sour cream
- 4-5 eggs
- 100 g butter
Preparation time: less than 60 minutes
RECIPE PREPARATION French potatoes:
Boiled potatoes are boiled in their skins. Allow to cool slightly and clean, cut into 4-5 cm slices and place in a bowl that can be put in a well greased oven with butter.
Over the potato layer we put the grated cheese on the large grater, then another layer of potatoes, and the grated cheese and we finish with a layer of potatoes.
Beat the eggs with a fork, add the sour cream and incorporate it well into the eggs. Pour the egg and sour cream mixture over the last layer of potatoes. He will slip through the potatoes throughout the bowl. On top we put the remaining butter cut into cubes.
Put the dish in the oven and leave it until it browns nicely on top.
I don't add any more salt. The cheese one is enough!
It is served as such, but it can also be a very good garnish!
